Wolves at Rockets: a 4-leg prop parlay, by the numbers
Four player props for Timberwolves–Rockets on Nov. 4, picked from box scores, projections and injury news.
The Wolves are in Houston tonight (7:30 p.m. CT) to face the best team in the West. I put together a four-leg same-game parlay, with two Rockets legs and two Wolves legs, using the last few box scores for each team, public projections, and tonight’s injury report.
The short version: a lottery ticket built on reasonable legs. Every leg is close to a coin flip on its own, and stacking four of them is how you get a +1200-type payout. Bet it small or not at all.
The matchup
| Rockets | Timberwolves | |
|---|---|---|
| Record | 7–1 (1st in West) | 5–3 |
| Points scored / allowed | 119.3 / 106.4 | 119.0 / 107.6 |
| Spread | −7.5 | +7.5 |
| Total | 221.5 | |
| Key absences | Steven Adams (out), Clint Capela (questionable) | Anthony Edwards (out), Donte DiVincenzo (out), Terrence Shannon Jr. (questionable) |
Two things shape every leg below:
- No Anthony Edwards. He averaged 33.3 points in his four games before the knee scope. Minnesota has gone 2–2 without him, and LaMelo Ball has taken over as the main scorer rather than the main passer.
- Houston is thin up front. With Adams out and Capela banged up, more of the frontcourt minutes and rebounds go to Alperen Şengün and Jabari Smith Jr.
The parlay
| # | Leg | Line | Odds (FanDuel) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jabari Smith Jr. pts + reb + ast | Over 23.5 | −108 |
| 2 | Alperen Şengün pts + reb | Over 28.5 | −102 |
| 3 | LaMelo Ball assists | Under 6.5 | −118 |
| 4 | Rudy Gobert pts + ast | Over 10.5 | −114 |
Priced as four separate bets, that’s about +1229 (13.3× decimal), or roughly a 7.5% implied chance. A same-game parlay is priced differently because the book adjusts for correlation, so check the actual price in the app.
1. Jabari Smith Jr. Over 23.5 PRA (−108)
This is the strongest leg. He’s averaging 18.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists, which is 27.2 PRA, almost four over the line, and he’s cleared 23.5 in four of his last five games.
| Game | PTS | REB | AST | PRA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| at DAL (Oct 30) | 22 | 3 | 2 | 27 |
| vs OKC (Oct 31) | 30 | 9 | 5 | 44 |
| vs BOS (Nov 2) | 14 | 10 | 0 | 24 |
The rebounds are what make this safe. With Adams out, more of the big-man minutes go to him, and he had 9 and 10 boards in his last two games.
2. Alperen Şengün Over 28.5 points + rebounds (−102)
| Game | PTS | REB | P+R |
|---|---|---|---|
| vs OKC (Oct 31) | 16 | 9 | 25 |
| vs BOS (Nov 2) | 26 | 7 | 33 |
Projections have him at about 20.9 points and 9.6 rebounds (30.5 P+R) over 35 minutes. Minnesota just gave up 60 paint points in San Antonio, and Houston scored 50 in the paint against Boston on Monday. Şengün went 11-for-13 inside in that game.
Risk: this is the weakest leg. He was well under against OKC, and if Houston pulls away, his fourth-quarter minutes disappear.
3. LaMelo Ball Under 6.5 assists (−118)
| Game | PTS | AST | 3PM |
|---|---|---|---|
| vs GSW (Oct 28) | 8 | 8 | 2 |
| vs LAC (Oct 30) | 24 | 7 | 6 |
| at SAS (Oct 31) | 10 | 4 | 0 |
| vs MIL (Nov 2) | 34 | 3 | 6 |
All four games are without Edwards. Ball went over 6.5 in the first two, but he’s had 4 and 3 assists in the last two as the offense shifted onto him: 21 shots and 3 assists against Milwaukee. He’s projected for about 5.7 tonight. Houston allows only 106.4 points per game, and a defense that good is more likely to stop his drives than give up easy kick-outs.
4. Rudy Gobert Over 10.5 points + assists (−114)
This is the contrarian Wolves leg. Gobert went 13 (9 points, 4 assists) against the Clippers and 11 (10 points, 1 assist) against Milwaukee, but only 2 against Golden State. Houston without Adams has fewer bodies to keep him off the offensive glass, and Minnesota ran up 42 paint points and 21 offensive rebounds against Milwaukee. Free throws are his volatility (4-for-12 against MIL), so this leg lives and dies at the line.
How they relate
- Legs 1 and 2 go together: a strong Houston night lifts both Rockets bigs. They also share the same risk. If Houston wins by 20, both may sit the fourth quarter.
- Legs 3 and 4 work against each other a little: fewer Ball assists means fewer lobs for Gobert, so his points have to come from putbacks and free throws.
- The best case for the whole ticket is a close game decided by Houston’s frontcourt, which is fairly plausible at 7.5 points.
